Ricardo García-Curbelo
is
a
unique (harpist soloist)
Musician, Composer and Poet
known as ‘’El Cóndor’;
resident
in the UK, member of the
PRS
and representative
of
The
Latin American Professionals
abroad.
This dedicated artist who
has
represented
Latin American musical and poetry culture,
nationally and internationally,
on a wide variety of stages
from a very young age -
radio & TV, educational institutions, festivals, concerts and charity performances, - was to be known
for his passionate, gifted way of communicating with the public, also to be
honoured on several occasions.
In the UK he has shared the stage with different accomplished soloists such as
Professor/ Guitarist David Caswell, Guitarist Singer/Songwriter Kai Jansen, Master triple harp Harpist Robin
How Bowen, Pianist/ Composer Frank
Abbinanti, classical
Violinist, Ann Wood, classical Guitarist, Adrian Smith, classical
Cellist, Helen Godbolt (...)
He has
performed several solo concerts; his performances have earned him many
compliments. His spellbinding routines – a colourful rhythmic journey though
different Latin American cultures – have prompted Time Out to declare
‘[He] has got to be seen to be believed’. Indeed, Ricardo invariably
offers most of us here in Europe a very different and much more rhythmic and
exciting experience of harp music.
Variety is provided by the skilful performance of traditional Latin American
pieces together with many of his
own compositions.
Ricardo’s poetical compositions such as The
Homo sapiens Dream bring today’s Latin American music and poetry to a new dimension. The Homo sapiens Dream is one of his more recent recorded CDs. This dramatic poetical progressive interpretation of human evolution has been much acclaimed by audiences. It was thanks to this piece, that Ricardo was presented as the perfect act for the day at the London Natural History Museum, during the Exhibition Road Festival in June 2010.
During 2010 -2011 Ricardo has
given many
performances; including
the Fishguard International Festival,
O'Carolan
Harp
Festival in Ireland,
the Welsh National Eisteddfod, Ebbw Vale, the Exhibition Road Festival
in London,
the Woodford Festival in London, St Catherine's Church concert in Ventnor, Isle of Wight, Concert for Japan in London (...)
Ricardo is delighted to
perform
this concert in Gregson Community and Arts Centre Lancaster and would like to thank Graeme Bond for offering this opportunity.
